Son
of TV personality and West End lyricist Richard Stilgoe and opera
singer Anabel Hunt, Joe Stilgoe was perhaps always destined to
become a musician. Inspired by great pianist/singers like Nat
King Cole and Buddy Grecco Joe's accomplished song writing, great
voice and scintillating humour have earned him a reputation as
an excellent live performer. Joe has featured several times over
the past year on BBC Radio 2 as part of Friday Night is Music
Night and Parkinson's Sunday Supplement. In January he caught
the eye of legendary jazz label Candid records (responsible for
the likes of Jamie Cullum and Stacey Kent) with whom he has recorded
his first album "I like this one" which was released
in October in conjunction with a sell-out run at the famous Ronnie
Scotts Jazz Club in London. Over the London Jazz Festival Joe
made a resounding splash on the scene being featured on BBC Radio
3's In Tune and playing gigs at venues all over the city including
one supporting Melody Gardot at the QE Hall, South Bank Centre.
